A Little Bit About Us

How did Bite Sip Stroll come to be?

Bite Sip Stroll first surfaced as an idea in 2015 – inspired by the dining culture in Europe where you may have a bite here, and a glass of wine there, strolling from place to place and taking in the city. We thought, let’s create a moving, scrumptious adventure right here in Australia, exploring and celebrating our most interesting culinary hubs. Three passionate foodies, from three different professional backgrounds (Marketing, Consumer Psychology and Engineering) teamed up to create Bite Sip Stroll, and the rest is history!

What exactly do we do?

We curate lineups of four to five restaurants for foodies to visit and experience in a single afternoon. The restaurants are in close walking distance of each other within a single dining district. Of course, the restaurants have to be exceptional in their own way! They might be the most progressive and adventurous, a cultural experience, or the embodyment of fine dining. What ever they are, they have to be extraordinary and at the top of their game.

Head Chef of each restaurant designs a dish for the event that embodies their venue. Experts from the Wine Selectors Tasting Panel (comprised of some of the biggest names in wine) then select the perfect wine pairing for each dish. On the day guests start at one restaurant, and work their way through the remaining restaurants throughout the course of the afternoon, savouring each food and wine creation. It gives foodies the unique opportunity to experience multiple award winning restaurants all in a single afternoon and enjoy wines selected by some of Australia’s leading wine experts – and at great value! Plus, guests get a more intimate interaction as they discuss food philosophies with restaurants and get tips on tasting from wine specialists.

Why are we doing this?

Simple: We <3 food and wine.  Not only do we love the experience of sharing good food and wine with good company, but we love exploring cities through food culture. Collectively we have eaten our way through many dining establishments around the world; from street side stalls in Thailand, Michelin star restaurants in France, and our local round the corner in Brisbane.  The idea attracted us because it encompasses things that we’re passionate about, it celebrates Australia’s world-class culinary prowess, it’s unique, and we love any excuse for a sneaky drop!
